Ffxiv queue times 20161/1/2024 ![]() ![]() ![]() The game will hand you gear via main story quests, and your class/job quests will also give you gear. The game will be throwing exp at you left and right and you will be overleveled very quickly (you will be level capped when entering dungeons and such though). Also consider leveling multiple jobs at once if several interest you. Pick something that interest you, and know that if you don't like it, you can easily change once you hit level 10. Do not worry about which job to start as. But you learn special abilities, and once you hit level 30 you can unlock an actual job which just makes you stronge. The game will direct you towards these, but some people do skip them since they aren't "required". ![]() Even just sticking to the main story will take quite a while and to complete the game is a significant time investment, but you can take your time and do it at your own pace. Unless you're playing in the middle of the night, this rarely takes more than 5-15 minutes. The game has a very good queue system, and you can queue into any dungeon or special fight that you would need other players for, and it will automatically put a group together and you run the dungeon with a few random players. You can still complete the entire game without having buddies on call to help. All of the required dungeons for the original game and first expansion have been adjusted so you can enter with a group of NPCs if you wish. I will say that it took me from early 2017 to mid-2020 to get through it, but that was with many months-long breaks in-between playing, so I don’t have an actual number of hours to give unfortunately.įFXIV is very Solo-friendly. It’s been too long since I finished A Realm Reborn for me to answer how long it is (especially since they streamlined and removed a lot of quests in the last year or two). It’s easy to just run through most dungeons without needing to communicate. And honestly, even if you do end up needing to matchmake with randoms for some things, it really isn’t a bad experience most of the time. Currently, that system is compatible with A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker activities Stormblood support is being added… sometime in the future, I’ve been out of the loop for a while and don’t remember what the ETA for it is. There are moments where you need to do dungeons or boss encounters with people, but they’re working on making it so that you can play with NPC party members instead if you wish. To answer your first question: the main storyline is very easily doable alone for the most part. I guess that's all I was really wondering before attempting this. Is there any sort of do's and don'ts or general etiquette I should keep in mind? I haven't really touched an MMO since my mid teens or so, and even that was really only casually. To know how much of a time investment I'm looking at in this part? How long am I looking at to finish the first part of the game? I've read that pretty much all the expansions eclipse the first bit of the game in quality, so I'm really looking forward to eventually getting there. I know being an MMO and all, you're encouraged to play with others and such, but how far could I reasonably get alone? I don't really have anyone I know to play with, so I'd be doing what I can solo. I want to really get back into seriously, but it'd be the first time I even dived into an MMO this big and I'm not sure how to approach it. I downloaded it early on last year, did a few quests and got distracted with other stuff. ![]() Final Fantasy XIV is one of those games I've heard people rave about, and from what little I've seen, for good reason. ![]()
